I am not a superstitious person or in any case believe in any form of foretelling such as horoscope and yet I agree it is nice to read something saying your luck is good on particular minutes and easy to ignore the opposite. This is what I got for today (14/07/2006) from Friendster’s horoscope – the most readily available horoscope within my favorite surfing list:
Libra (Sep 23 - Oct 22)
The Bottom Line
Transportation issues could slow you down now, so think up a smart backup plan.
In Detail
The biggest conflicts you experience today are centered around getting from point A to point B. There’s a lot of negative energy around transportation right now, so be prepared for delays or detours. If you’re driving, give yourself some extra time to make any appointments. Being late could set you back in many important ways — so play it safe just in case. If you’re taking some sort of public transportation, the people around you could affect your energy. Keep to yourself.
As much as I try to be skeptical, the prediction is really… convincingly accurate.
I thought the prediction was wrong at first. I was not going anywhere before that fateful SMS from my friend Dipta showed up in my 3230 screen; invite me to join his and Jordan’s endeavor of driving aimlessly around Jakarta. Oh… yes it’s a very attractive proposition for a bored me.
Shortly, I was in Jordan’s Xenia. We decided to go to Taman Anggek (TA) – one of the most popular mall destinations in Jakarta. Mind that we are all grown-in-Singapore students and thus know nothing about vicious street of Jakarta.
Two words to summarize our travel: delays and detours (to and from TA) especially when we were heading back from TA. I am pretty sure that the route from TA to Bintaro (my house) should not involve drifting through (in sequence) Kalibata Hero’s Cemetery, Ragunan, Lenteng Agung, and Lebak Bulus. For anyone that does not understand Jakarta’s streets - like I do, let me assure you that it is a long detour.
Let say, our way back turns into night tour around south Jakarta. Anyway, it is always fun traveling with you two – Dipta and Jordan - guys. Thanks! It is indeed an exciting experience.
Still… I do not want to believe those horoscope, almanac and any similar foretelling.
Moral of the story: never leave a map when you do not know the way :p
