I am not trying to be a heretic but this weird idea keeps flickered and transmitted by neurones in somewhere behind my forehead. Consequently, just like any other weird ideas, I dump it here so bored people like you (yes you!) could read.
This is the reading for last Sunday (November 5th, 2006) mass in any Catholic church, in my case is St. Bernadette, in Singapore.
Mark 12:30-31
…And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these…
Notice anything weird?
Based on my abnormal reasoning, this is what I understand.
Man needs to love good with everything that he got (body, heart, brain, liver, kidney, blood, salarty etc). Thus it is imperative for the man not to love himself because by doing so (love himself) he could not love God with all his everything.
Thus, ‘thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself’ will translate to ‘thou shalt not love thy neighbour as thyself’.
Hmm… let use ‘love’ in its broadest sense… and in the most ‘positive’ manners
Not loving other might not necessarily lead to hate. Nevertheless, our society can be likened to gasoline-drenched straws. Very damp and dull until one idiot starts some sparks. Remember, according to Murphy, accident happens. So… yah… shits bad things happen.
In short, my train of thought suggests that war, a situation where people do not love each other, is God’s will since man is not suppose to be able to love each other.
I hear thunder. Dugh.
